Project Management in EPC Projects

Details

The typical form of project execution in industrial plant construction and the associated EPC (Engineering – Procurement – Construction) contract structure create enormous project complexity. The contractor acts as general contractor and undertakes to deliver a turnkey plant in accordance with the contractually assured properties (performance data).

The latter provides all the necessary services: The entire engineering work, the procurement or manufacture of all necessary machinery and equipment, assembly on the construction site, as well as commissioning and turnkey handover to the customer.

Due to the resulting large number of interfaces, problems often arise between the areas involved. This results in delays in the schedule, unnecessary consumption of resources, etc.

This training was designed to support employees in changing their mindset in the handling of EPC projects from a technically oriented to an organizational view and to design processes in industrial plant and plant construction companies in a process-optimized manner.
