Erwin Fuchs

I was raised in beautiful Styria and now live in Upper Austria. Throughout my professional life it has been and still is very important to me to maintain a balance with my family environment, my wife and my two children. My leisure time activities are mainly dedicated to my racing bike, running shoes and my own garden.

Work History and Career

I received my technical education by attending a technical college for mechanical and plant engineering. After graduating, I gained my first practical experience in a small company in the field of technical project management (HVAC). Quickly I understood the importance of gaining international experience and also knew that I wanted to work more in project management.

After several years in plant engineering in power plant construction (nuclear power plant), I continued working as a Project Manager in industrial plant construction (metallurgy) handling projects in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

As a Sub-project Manager, I was allowed to manage one of the most complex projects in South Africa (pig iron production/COREX). This was followed by many years in the automotive industry (body store) in the functions of Project Manager, Head of Project Management and Business Unit Manager.

As a result, I decided to work as a consultant in order to be able to share the knowledge and experience I have gained. In the consulting business, I can make very good use of the experience and references from the various industries to generate added value for centerline/'s customers. Being certified in project management (IPMA) and studying for a business degree (MBA) was very important for consulting business.

I have been active in consulting since 2008 and have been Managing Partner since centerline/ was founded in 2013.

This Motivates and Inspires Me

Essentially, my motivation for everything I do is based on wanting to make a valuable contribution to the "big picture" through independence and personal responsibility. And for me personally, the function or role in which one finds oneself is not decisive for this. It comes down to personal attitude.

As a fundamentally intrinsically motivated person, my motto is: "If you want to motivate others, you must first and foremost be motivated yourself." My family and friends contribute to this motivation in my private life, professionally it is the opportunity to pass on experiences to the younger generations.

Alexander Kogler

Born in the Salzkammergut region of Upper Austria, I moved with my parents to Linz a short time later. Whenever possible, I still spent a lot of time in the Salzkammergut. Today, I still live in Linz with my wife, have two grown-up children, love to be out and about in nature, and am passionate about road cycling and mountain biking.

My enthusiasm for industrial plant engineering was actually awakened in my childhood days, when I was involved in building dams by the small streams in Gosau. At that time, of course, I was not yet aware of how much this would influence my professional career, but in retrospect I am very grateful for such experiences.

Work History and Career

After completing the HTL for Mechanical Engineering in Linz, I studied rock metallurgy at the University of Leoben (elective subject: mineral processing). Along the way, I had the opportunity to work as an intern on a construction site of a world-leading steel and technology company in Indiana, USA.

Fascinated by the giant dimensions and high complexity of the industrial plants, I knew that I wanted to continue working in this field in the future. During and after my studies, I continued to work for this company in various roles (including Project Manager, Commercial Project Manager and Sales Project Manager) and spent several years abroad.

Over time, I became increasingly aware of the impact of conflict in projects and organizations, to the detriment of collaboration, enjoyment and business success. I wanted to deal with conflicts and their resolution and so I decided to train in mediation and conflict resolution.

I have been working as a consultant since 2002 and have been Managing Partner since centerline/ was founded in 2013.

This Motivates and Inspires Me

For me personally, international (industrial) plant engineering is one of the most exciting fields of activity, also because there is an enormous diversity of thematic focuses in which one can be active. I am motivated by the fact that I am able to support our customers every day with theoretical and experience-based knowledge in a wide variety of projects.

Christian Kronberger

I grew up in Upper Austria, where I also attended the HTL for mechanical engineering. I spent the time of my studies and the years afterwards in Vienna. Together with my family, I later moved back to the countryside.

Work History and Career

During and after my studies at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, specializing in Structural Engineering, I worked in a civil engineering office as a Structural Engineer. My projects became more extensive and thus my activities changed in the direction of project management. In order to work internationally here, I moved to a company of a leading global steel and technology group and was responsible for project management in the company for more than 10 years.

Since 2018, I have been working as an independent management consultant. Since 2021 I have been Managing Partner at centerline/.

This Motivates and Inspires Me

During my time in projects, I became aware that problems in projects are not so exclusively of technical or methodological origin. Much more often, the reason for problems and conflicts is the fact that we know too little about communication or pay too little attention to what we know about it. In order to take this knowledge into account, I completed a special course of training to become a systemic coach (life and social consultant). My great desire is to make it easier for people to work in projects. Many people suffer in projects. It doesn't have to be, it can be fun.

What motivates me most is to see that my work makes sense, i.e. leads to success in the projects and relief for the people involved. I also enjoy working with people and sharing my experiences with them. I also get a lot of motivation from outdoor activities, especially cycling in good weather. In general, I like to spend my free time in nature - among other things, I go jogging and ski touring in the winter - and thus try to create a balance to professional activities.

Born in the Waldviertel in Lower Austria, I am a Carinthian at heart and a convinced European. For more than two decades I am living with my family in beautiful Bonn, Germany. In my leisure time, I like to be out and about in the mountains.

Work History and Career

I completed my studies in Business Administration and Project Management in Vienna and Norway. Afterwards I worked in project management for an Austrian airline and since 2000 I have been active as a consultant, subsequently as a certified DiSC® Trainer and "The Five Behaviors®" Team Developer in the field of project management and implementation of target group specific training measures for executives and project managers.

With this background and due to the fact that many industrial companies are located in North Rhine-Westphalia, which in my opinion is the industrial heart of Germany, my focus is on the establishment of successful team structures in plant engineering, the meaningful design of project management structures and culture and their linkage with the strategy of the company.

I have been working as a consultant since 2000 and have been Managing Partner since centerline/ was founded in 2013.

This Motivates and Inspires Me

Since the beginning of my work as a consultant, I have been interested in the question of how industrial companies – in particular plant construction companies – can handle projects pragmatically, efficiently and in a cooperative setting. For me, the purpose of modern project management is to enable the optimal interaction of all parties involved. To support this and to promote it wherever possible is my motivation in the daily work with our customers.
